Brett Hall has been programming off and on since the days of the Commodore 64 with the longest "on" period starting back in physics grad school at UC Santa Barbara in the mid-nineties when he was programming numerical solvers in C++ for the PDE's generated by his General Relativity research. After finishing his PhD he spent some time developing data analysis software for a remote sensing company before their unfortunate demise. Then for a few years he shifted over to the J2EE world before landing a position at Wyatt Technology working on their data collection and analysis software. This position brought him back to C++ where he's remained for the past eight years. He intermittently blogs about C++ and other tech related issues at Backwards Incompatibilities (http://backwardsincompatibilities.wordpress.com/). When not programming he's normally either hanging out with his family and/or mountain biking on the trails around Santa Barbara.
